This casa is such a lovely place with an awesome terrace from where you can watch the sunset over the city! It is well located close to the city center and also close to the bus station, both you can reach in short walking time. The room is exactly as described with everything you need for your stay in Cuba. Casanara is managed by a cordially family and everyone is so friendly and helpful. We directly felt welcomed as we arrived. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a place to stay in Santiago de Cuba. I would like to thank you for the great trip that you organized for me and my friend. We had a wonderful stay in L'Havana, Trinidad and Santiago. We did the transfer with the taxi that you organized and it was confortable and the drivers very punctual. The breakfast we had was always good and with fresh fruits. The people of the "casas particulares" were very nice to us and advise us for what to do and what to see.

Milena in Santiago cooked wonderful plates during the evenings! We were out for dinner only 1 night because it was one of the best meal we had in Casanara in Santiago.

We danced a lot and stay in the casas particulares is the best way to know people!

Hallo, ich denke ich kann meine Nachricht in Deutsch schreiben. Wir möchten uns für den tollen Aufenthalt bedanken. Casanara ist ein super Host, freundlich zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön groß und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Bett ist das BESTE auf Cuba!! Das Frühstück wurde täglich nach unsren Wünschen zubereitet und selbst bei unserer frühen Abreise wurden wir mit einem frischen Kaffee verabschiedet. Rundum war alles Klasse auch der Ausflug den wir zum Wasserfall und an die Playa gemacht haben war ein Volltreffer.
Da ich nicht „offiziell“ buchen konnte weiß ich nicht ob eine Bewertung auf Arbnb möglich ist. Ich werde das nach unserer Rückkehr prüfen.

my experience in casanara has been great!

I've spent there 4 nights in august 2017.

The owners are really friendly and more than happy to give you suggestions and advices.

The room is amazing, the best one i found in Cuba (I spent 30 days inCuba and almost all of them in casa particulares!).

It is very big, comfortable bed, fridge, huge bathroom and a silent air condition!!!

I had a breakfast and a dinner at the casa and everything was really good! the fish I had has been fished by a friend of the family and it was super tasty!

I also had a day trip arranged by the owners with a local guide (the fisherman friend of the family) who brought me to a waterfall taking a local bus (finally i could have had a real cuban experience!). We also spent some time to a beach where the cuban people go and then a waterfront lunch (super fresh fish!) with a lovely nap.

The philosophy under casanara (cultural exchance where all the different cultures can learn from each other) is an additional reason to choose this casa particular.

What else could I say? Just do it and try this experience yourself!!!

Your house is well located within walking distance to bus Viazul and train station, WI-FI hotspots and shopping streets, park and cathedral. The room is super nice and very clean! Having toured the city with the Old-timer was top to do as experience! The bike tour is a good experience as well. Your accommodation was super and the food you prepare is excellent. Das Frühstück war das Beste, dass wir auf unserem Kuba-Trip hatten. :) Das Zimmer und das Bad sind sehr groß und sauber.”

Bara för att nämna några av de positiva upplevelserna. De erbjöd upphämtning på Viazul busstation utan kostnad. De hjälpte oss pruta ner priset på taxin vi anlände i till boendet. De följde med och visade oss en bra restaurang i närheten och var vi kunde köpa rom och cigarrer. Läget är bra, en kort promenad på ca 15 min från stadskärnan, och ca 5 min från Viazul. Rummet är fint med all utrustning man behöver. Vi stördes av grannen vid något tillfälle men det är inte Casanaras fel. Casanaras boende rekommenderas varmt!

The room with ensuite bathroom was clean with quiet and good air conditioning. The fridge was well stocked with soft drinks and alcohols. The breakfast and dinners prepared by Milena were delicious. The organized trips (inquire with the hosts Jordi and Milena) literally off the beaten track (waterfall, Cuban resort beach, countryside, public transport by truck, snorkeling at a local Cuban beach,...) were great experiences, thanks to our guide and expert spearfisherman, Alexandre. Sharing a cigar and some rum with the hosts and Alexander on the roof terrace at the end of the day made our stay even more pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.”

"Casanara was a very good base for exploring Santiago. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room with good air-con, also it was very conveninent to have a refrigerator in the room stocked with water, soft drinks and beer as a kind of minibar (this is an extra, but good value). And we very much enjoyed the roof terrace with rocking chairs, nice to sit there in the evenings gazing at the stars and listening to the noises of the neighborhood. Meals are also good, we had very filling breakfast every day and asked for dinner a couple of times, and it was quite delicious. Location is not exactly central, but the distance to Parque Cespedes etc. is easily walkable. Of the neighborhood attractions definitely recommend walking in the 'Malecon' in the evening and going to the brewery across the road from it (Puerto del Rey) for a beer and maybe some simple dinner and live music, the place has a very authentic local feel (and more than reasonable prices). My husband and I both liked our stay at Casanara a lot!"

"The Casanara family and their guest quarters are simply the best. We stayed with them for 7 days. Their house is located in the city, within walking distance to everything, but in a quiet, residential section. (As almost everywhere, there are chickens and dogs and cats in the surrounding properties, but they just added to the charm.) Let me start by first describing the room and bathroom: clean, spacious, wonderfully comfortable and large bed, stocked refrigerator with freezer in the room, brand new A/C, closet space, reliable water pressure and hot shower.....the best place we've stayed at in Cuba (and this was our second time). If you also want breakfast and/or dinner, Milena prepares wonderful meals and you never go hungry. (Breakfast and dinner cost extra, of course, but at extremely reasonable prices!) Moreover, their employee/friend Alexander is a spearfisherman extraordinaire, so you can also get freshly caught seafood! This family takes care of you from A-Z, whether arranging for taxis or a friendly guide to the city or an excursion into the countryside. Above all, these are wonderful, warm, friendly people who enjoy talking to you if you speak Spanish, and make you feel like part of their family if you choose to do so. Our most memorable evening in Santiago was the one where we shared a dinner of grilled pork on their rooftop terrace with them, and talked late into the night, as much as our limited Spanish would allow. This is a hard-working young family with a vision and a passion for all they do. If we go back to Santiago, there is no question in my mind where we will be staying. They also organized a seafood picnic at a house they own on the beach…all very good and not too touristic but authentic real Cuba. We absolutely recommend it!
